Cocamidopropyl Betaine (CAPB) is a zwitterionic (amphoteric) surfactant derived from coconut oil. It is one of the most widely used secondary surfactants in the personal care industry, commonly found in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers and liquid hand soaps. CAPB's primary role in formulation is as a foam booster and viscosity enhancer in surfactant systems.
